شَرُّ أَشجارٍ عَلِمتُ بِها
شَجَراتٌ أَثمَرَت ناسا
The worst trees I've known
Are trees that bore people
حَمَلَت بِهضاً وَأَغرَبَةً
وَأَتَت بِالقَومِ أَجناسا
They carried animosity and grudges
And brought different races of people
كُلَّهُم أَخفَت جَوانِحُهُ
مارِداً في الصِدرِ خَنّاسا
All of whose wings are broken
With a rebellious demon in their chests
لَم تَسِق عَذباً وَلا أَرِجاً
بَل أَذيّاتٍ وَأَدناسا
They didn't give fresh or pleasant water
Rather harm and filth
تَعِبٌ ما نَحنُ فيهِ وَهَل
يَجلُبُ الإيحاشُ إيناسا
We're tired of what we're in, does
Stirring up trouble bring comfort?
خُذ حُساماً سَعدُ أَو قَلَماً
وَخُذي يا دَعدُ عِرناسا
Take a sword Saad or take a pen
And take a spear Dae'd and Irnas
