1. هِيَ غُربَتانِ فَغُربَةٌ مِن عاقِلٍ

    ثُمَّ اِغتِرابٌ مِن مُحَكِّمِ عَقلِهِ

    There are two estrangements: estrangement from sanity,

    Then alienation from one's self-controlling mind.

  2. وَالطَبعُ يَثبُتُ كَالهِضابِ وَمَن يَرُم

    نَقلاً لَهُ يَعجَز وَيَعيَ بِنَقلِهِ

    Inborn nature stays fixed like mountains, and whoever

    Tries moving it finds the attempt too hard.

  3. وَالحَقُّ يُثقِلُ كُلَّ غاوٍ ظالِمٍ

    وَأَخو الدِيانَةِ ما يُحِسُّ بِثِقلِهِ

    The truth weighs down on every straying wrongdoer,

    Yet one sworn to religion does not feel its weight.
