لَو نَطَقَ الدَهرُ في تَصَرُّفِهِ
لَعَدَّنا كُلُّنا مِنَ التَفثِ
If time could speak of its travails
We would all count as most impure
قالَ لَنا إِنَّني أَحِجُّ إِلى اللَ
هِ وَأَنتُم مِن أَقبَحِ الرَفثِ
It would say, I do profess to God
While you wallow in the manure
نَفَّثتُكُمُ مَرَّةً عَلى غَلَطٍ
مِنّي فَهَل تَعذَرونَ في النَفثِ
I once exhaled you by mistake
Can you then my breath endure
