She walked with a figure that steals hearts, so gentle,

To a tryst where she meets the hills, sister of another tryst,

The guide of the caravan was lost, and night was falling

With its leaves, and dawn had not yet glimmered,

Enduring the green locust trees, she was passionate,

Her provision was half a pendant from her full moon.

Until a dawn appeared, revealing its path,

To us in eloquent speech, not stammering,

If an eye despairs for a loved one, it is enough

For it from separation a day of tossing and turning,

Sorrow is enough that after his perfection

The days say to him in a grave, “Cling!”

And how many times our feet trod on its soil,

The forehead of my elder brother and the prominent nose of Abu Lahab.
