If you pardon a man his misdeed

Then do not chastise or rebuke him

And if you spare him hardship

    Avoid causing him undue trouble

A man's nature stays as it's always been

No matter what life's travails convene

He may get used to living on the mountain

But won't abandon it for an easy terrain

    Necessity overrides accustomed ways

And forgiveness eats paths into the dunes

How can one who is naturally unjust

Seek justice, it's not in his fortune

Every state has its own character

Don't make it do what it didn't commence
