1. الجُسمُ كَالصُفرِ يَكسوهُ الثَرى صَدأً

    وَالخَيرُ كَالتِبرِ لا يَدنو لَهُ الدَنَسُ

    The body is like zero, covered by earth, rust

    And goodness is like gold, untainted by filth

  2. لَو دامَ في الأَرضِ عُمرَ الدَهرِ مُختَزِناً

    لَما تَغَيَّرَ عَمّا يَعهَدُ الأَنَسُ

    If it stayed on earth for eternity, stored away

    It would not change from what is familiar to mankind
