O my silent preacher, why do you not

Recite to me your sweet words?

The two new ones, who are

My own unprompted compositions, not coached ones,

    Are like archers whose arrows

    Are not fledged or barbed,

And it is as if the hours have wings

So that sending them is like releasing a trained hunting cat.

Fate calls out from a hillock:

"Leave this one for its time or take that one!"

The whiteness of dawn sprouted my hopes

And I had entrusted them to the gloaming, snatched away.

Let joy be for him who is honored by it,

And worship your God, matchless and peerless.
