1. دُنياكَ وَالحَمامُ في رُتبَةٍ

    مِن خارِجٍ غَمٌّ وَمِن داخِلِ

    Your world and the pigeons are of one rank

    Outside is sadness, inside as well

  2. ما طَهَّرَت بَل دَنَّسَت وَاِرتَمَت

    بِالسَيِّدِ الوَهّابِ وَالباخِلِ

    It did not purify, but defiled and became tarnished

    By the Lord Most Generous and the miser

  3. لَو نُخِلَ العَيشُ لَما حَصَّلَت

    شَيئاً سِوى المَوتِ يَدُ الناخِلِ

    If life were emptied, it would gain

    Nothing but death by the hand of the miser
