1. هَل تُمسِكُ الماءَ لي مَزادي

    مِن بَعدَ ما فُرِّيَ الأَديمُ

    Will you withhold the water for my provisions,

    After the vessel is emptied?

  2. تَمادَتِ الكَأسُ بِالنَدامى

    وَحُقَّ أَن يَندَمَ النَديمُ

    The cup overflows with remorse,

    And rightly should the guest feel remorse.

  3. ما في بَني آدَمٍ غَنِيٌّ

    بَل كُلُّهُم مُقَتِّرٌ عَديمُ

    Among the sons of Adam there is no wealthy man,

    Rather all of them are destitute and in want.

  4. يَغنى الَّذي ما لَهُ فَناءٌ

    وَذَلِكَ الواحِدُ القَديمُ

    He alone is wealthy who has no end,

    And He is the One, the Eternal.
