1. إبْقَ في نِعْمَةٍ بَقاءَ الدّهورِ

    نافِذَ الأمرِ في جميعِ الأمورِ

    Remain in blessings, enduring like ages,

    Powerful in all matters, your command prevailing,

  2. خاضِعاتٍ لكَ الكواكبُ تَخْتصْ

    ص مَوالِيكَ بالمحَلّ الأثيرِ

    The planets submit to you, exalting

    Your loyalists to the most exalted realm.

  3. لا يُؤثّرْنَ في الوَلِيّ ولا الحا

    سِدِ حتى تُشِيرَ بالتّأثيرِ

    Neither ally nor rival affects the patron

    Until you gesture with influence,

  4. وتَهَنَّ النُّعْمى السّنيّةَ والْبَسْ

    حُلَلَ المَجْدِ والفَعَالِ الخَطيرِ

    Donning the finest garments of glory and might

    While enjoying the bloom of prosperous life.

  5. وتمَتّعْ بنَضْرَةِ العَيْشِ إذْ جَا

    ءتْكَ في رَونْقِ الزّمانِ النّضيرِ

    The best of fate's hands for people of this world

    Came in the season of the finest months.

  6. خَيْرُ أيْدي الزّمانِ عند بَني الدّنْ

    يا أتَتْ في أوَانِ خيرِ الشهورِ

    You were Moses, and the daughter of Shuaib came to you,

    Though neither of you were destitute.

  7. كنتَ موسى وافَتْكَ بنتُ شُعَيْبٍ

    غيرَ أنْ ليسَ فيكُما مِنْ فَقِيرِ

    Your splendid abode was not to settle

    Except atop the highest mansions.

  8. لم يكُنْ قَصْرُكَ المُنيفُ ليَسْتَنْ

    زِلَ إلاّ أعْلى بناتِ القُصورِ

    The gray shadows of gloom departed its courtyard

    Fearing the light of a brilliant dawn.

  9. رَحَلَتْ من فِنائِهِ شُهُبُ الغِلْ

    مانِ خوْفاً من ضَوْء فَجْرٍ مُنيرِ

    It was like the horizon when the sun inclined towards it

    And its stars hastened to depart.

  10. كانَ كالأفْقِ حين هَمّتْ به الشم

    سُ تَنَادَتْ نُجومُه بالمَسيرِ

    What blessing that the suns inhabit

    The gardens of moons.

  11. يا لها نِعْمَةً وليسَ ببِدْعٍ

    أن تَحُوزَ الشّموسُ رِقَّ البُدورِ

    A pearl from your treasures dwells in an ocean,

    As pearls dwell in the depths.

  12. دُرّةٌ من ذُراكَ تَسْكُنُ بحْراً

    وكذا الدّرّ ساكنٌ في البُحورِ

    You are the sun of daybreak, so morning derives

    Its illumination and light from you.

  13. أنتَ شمسُ الضّحى فمنكَ يُفيدُال

    صّبْحُ ما فيه من ضِياءٍ ونُورِ

    Spring has come to you, acting as

    Your obedient slave acts.

  14. قد أتاكَ الرّبيعُ يَفعلُ ما تأ

    مُرُهُ فِعْلَ عبدكَ المأمورِ

    It clothed the earth in green silk in your service,

    My Master, above all kings.

  15. وكسا الأرضَ خِدْمَةً لكَ يا مَوْ

    لاهُ دونَ المُلوكِ خُضْرَ الحريرِ

    So it struts in emerald green,

    Becoming pearls scattered at dawn.

  16. فهْيَ تَخْتَالُ في زَبَرْجَدةٍ خَضْ

    راءَ تُغْدى بلُؤْلُؤٍ مَنْشُورِ

    Every hillside longs for the verdure

    Of a short coat of vegetation.

  17. وغدَتْ كلُّ رَبْوَةٍ تشتهي الرّقْ

    صَ بثوْبٍ من النّباتِ قَصيرِ

    Your wedding day shaded people -

    They named it the Feast of Joy.

  18. ظَلّ للنّاس يوْمَ عَقْدِك هذا ال

    أمْرَ عِيدٌ سمّوه عِيدَ السرورِ

    If their feast is without a crescent,

    The brilliant crescent is the face of the Prince.

  19. إنْ يكُنْ عِيدُهمْ بغيرِ هِلالٍ

    فالهِلالُ المُنيرُ وَجْهُ الأميرِ

    It delighted them in appearance and they regarded it in awe -

    It filled visions and breasts.

  20. راقَهُمْ مَنْظَراً وهَابوهُ خَوْفاً

    فهْوَ مِلءُ العُيونِ مِلء الصّدورِ

    It delighted the city and nomad folk alike

    As it proceeded to those in graves.

  21. سَرّ أهلَ الأمصارِ والبَدْوِ حتى

    جازَهُمّ عامِداً لأهْلِ القُبورِ

    It returned their souls - had it not been for fear of God,

    They would have risen before the Day of Resurrection.

  22. رَدَّ أرواحَهُمْ فلولا حِذارُ اللهِ

    قامُوا من قبْلِ يومِ النّشورِ

    Do not ask where your enemies settled -

    The wretches met the Subtle, All-Aware.

  23. لا تَسَلْ عن عِداكَ أين اسْتَقَرّوا

    لَحِقَ القَوْمُ باللّطيفِ الخَبيرِ

    Milk from the Patron, Paradise for the loyal,

    And for the wicked, the Furnace's heat.

  24. حَلَبٌ للَوليّ جَنْةُ عَدْنٍ

    وهْيَ للغادرينَ نارُ سعيرِ

    The Almighty seems greater in my eyes

    Than the small seeming small.

  25. والعَظيمُ العظيمُ يَكبُرُ في عَيْنَيْ

    ِه منها قَدْرُ الصّغيرِ الصغيرِ

    So a gnat in people's souls is an ocean

    While a pebble from it sends a torrent.

  26. فقُويْقٌ في أنْفُسِ القَوْمِ بَحْرٌ

    وحَصَاةٌ منها تَطِيرُ ثَبِير

    You lived until yesterday returned in my knowledge

    That it will not return after passing.

  27. عِشتَ حتى يعُودَ أمْسِ لعِلْمي

    أنّه لا يَعُودُ بَعْدَ المُرُورِ

    The pretensions of kings other than you

    Are claims of dissent and falsehood.

  28. فادّعاءُ المُلوكِ غيْرِك إدرا

    كَ المَعالي دعْوى شِقاقٍ وزُورِ
