هَذا زَمانٌ لَيسَ في أَهلِهِ

إِلّا لِأَن تَهجِرَهُ أَهلُ

This is an era with no one in it

Worth loyalty except to abandon it

جَميعُنا يَخبِطُ في حِندِسٍ

قَدِ اِستَوى الناشِئُ وَالكَهلُ

We're all floundering in deep darkness

The young and the old are the same

حانَ رَحيلُ النَفسِ عَن عالَمٍ

ما هُوَ إِلّا الغَدرُ وَالجَهلُ

It's time for the soul to depart this world

Which is naught but betrayal and ignorance

قَد فَنِيَ الوَقتُ فَما حيلَتي

إِذا اِنقَضى الإِمهالُ وَالمَهلُ

Time is up and I am helpless

When respite and grace are lost

إِن خَتَمَ اللَهُ بِغُفرانِهِ

فَكُلُّ ما لاقَيتُهُ سَهلُ

If God seals me with forgiveness

All I've endured will be easy
