What an excellent guardian of my wealth and my offspring!

  2. I have resolved to visit the Sacred House, and no one

but You, O God, is my support in what I seek.

  3. I have stood at the door of supplication, and this

hand of mine I have stretched out, hoping Your bounty will reach it.

  4. So let my hope in You remain unbroken.

And bring my wishes to fulfillment through Your aid.

  5. And grant me, O God, gratitude for grace, a reward in this

world for what You approve for me, and triumph tomorrow.

  6. And ease, O God, my coming and my departure.

And straighten, O God, all that is crooked within me.

  7. And let my course lead toward every good virtue.

And guard me, O God, in my nearness and my distance.

  8. And appoint over me a watcher from You to guard me,

in my stay, my journey, my sleep, and my wakefulness.

  9. And grant success, O God, in the effort I have undertaken; do not

let my heart be heedless of remembering You.

  10. Whenever I bid my family farewell as I depart,

be my guardian in my stead over my family in Samad.

  11. And if I offer a farewell prayer, I invoke You, O

my Lord; accept it, and be my help and my refuge.

  14. O You who watch me with guarding eyes in my homeland,

guard my journey as You guard me in my homeland.

  15. And shorten the distance in my stays and my travels.

And shield me from enemies' ambushes and those lying in wait.

  16. And make my road safe, so that no harm befalls me

from any creature, nor aggression from anyone.

  17. And protect us from the evil of anyone we fear and guard against.

And furnish us with the strongest means of defense.

  18. Or, if I ride overland, make it easy for me; and if
