Peace be upon you, and from me to you
comes praise that, after my longing, led me to you.
Peace be upon you, and love for you
called me to kiss the earth beside you.
Peace be upon you, O master of creation.
And my foremost praise is: peace be upon you.
Peace be upon you; my happiness is when
I rub myself with dust upon your feet.
Peace be upon you—oh, the triumph of my fortune
whenever I kiss the dust from before you!
Peace be upon you; indeed, I hope
to triumph whenever I stand before you.
Peace be upon you, and from me to you
comes abundant praise for your two companions:
Abu Bakr, the other of you two in the cave, then
Abu Hafs—the two who dwell at your sides,
your two supporters in the faith while you lived; and when
you died, they carefully followed your footsteps.
