على الشهيد الشريف اللوذعي علي

أبي الحسين نزحت الدمع من مقلي

Ali Al Shahidi Al Sharif Al Lawdhi

Abu Al Hussein, tears streamed from my eyes

إن عشت عشت لفي غم به وأسى

أو مت مت من الأحزان والوجل

Whether I live, I live in sorrow and grief for him

Or if I die, I die from sorrows and fears

عمت رزيته الدنيا وساكنها

من جملة الثقلين الأنس والخبل

His misfortune has spread across the world and its inhabitants

Among the two kinds, mankind and jinn

هذا هو الجبل المنهد من مضر

ها أصبحت مضر الحمرا بلا جبل

This is the crumbled mountain of Mudar

Alas Mudar became completely without a mountain

وغاص بحر معد عن بنيه وعن

قحطان والخلق من وعر ومن سهل

And the sea of Ma'ad disappeared from its sons, and from

Qahtan, and people on the rugged and smooth land

أحيا المكارم حتى مات فهي به

خضراء كالروضة الميعاش في الجفل

He revived virtues until he died, so they remain in him

Green like an irrigated garden in the wasteland

لاقى المنايا وما لاقت عوارضه

بياض شيب ومن حلم نفى كهل

He met death without meeting its calamities

The whiteness of old age and the wisdom of an elder

أبا الحسين علي مذ قربت إلى

باريك زلفى بوقع البيض والأسل

Abu Al Hussein Ali, when I drew near

To your door, eggs and night fell

قتلت فيها بأسنى هجرة طويت

وتلك سابقة محمودة العمل

You killed my sorrows that I have folded

That was a commendable and excellent deed

أنت الشهيد سعيداً قد قتلت على

خير العقائد في حل ومرتحل

You are the martyr, happily killed for

The best beliefs, settled and unsettled

أزمعت حجاً لبيت اللَه معتمرا

وزائراً قبر هاد سيد الرسل

You intended to make Hajj to Allah's House and visit

The grave of the guide of messengers

صلى الإله عليه ما طوت قلص

لوصل ليلى مجاهيلاً من الجهل

May Allah send blessings upon him as long as ridges

Twist to connect with Layla, ignorantly, foolishly

قاتلت في اللَه من عاداه متكلا

عليه فاسعد بجد منه متكل

You fought for Allah against those hostile to Him

So you were made happy with seriousness from Him, relying on Him

ضربت بالسيف لو وفقت لا دهشا

حتى غدا السيف مفلولاً من القلل

You struck with the sword, and if you had succeeded you would not be surprised

Until the sword became bent from striking heads

إن حان عمر الفتى ما احتال عن قدر

لا يعصم العمر مقدور من الحيل

When the lifetime of a young man expires, he cannot evade his fate

Lifetime does not protect against what is destined

وكان يومك باقي العمر من عدد

لا ينقص العمر تعداد من الأجل

And your day was the rest of a lifetime in number

Lifetime is not diminished by counting down to death

أبا الحسين لقد كلفتني شططا

حُزناً يمرر حلو الشرب والأكل

Abu Al Hussein, you have burdened me with immense

Sorrow that makes the drinking of sweet and eating bitter

رحلت عنا إلى دار السرور وقد

أبقيت لي الحزن حتى الموت مكتفل

You traveled from us to the house of bliss, and you

Left me with sadness until death comes bundled up

إني أعزي العلا والمجد فيك ولا

نفسي أعزي وعبء الحلم والنفل

I console myself that honor and glory are in you, but

I cannot console myself, the burden is too heavy to carry

لا حادث جللا عقباك في أحد

إلا عليك وقوع الحادث الجلل

No great accident follows you, but rather

The great accident befalls you

فأنت عين التقى والمجد نجدته

بل أكرم الكرما الباقين والأول

So you are the essence of piety and glory, its source

Rather, the most generous of the remaining and the former

إن كنت مت فأحياك الجميل لنا

تضوع النشر منشوراً على الخمل

If you died, your good deeds give you life to me

Broadcasting the publication posted on camel saddles

أودعتك اللَه مذ أودعتني حُزناً

عليك يعدل صبري يا علي بلي

I entrust you to Allah since you entrusted me with

Sorrow over you, O Ali, that equals my patience

مت بالهنا فحسين والفتى حسن

والندب مسعود حسبي مذ بقوا نجلي

You died well, so Hussain and the young man Hassan

And eulogy for Masoud are enough for me since they remained my sons

لا شتت اللَه شملاً جامعا لهمو

في ظل عيش ببرد منه مشتمل

May Allah not scatter a group that He has united

In the shade of a life with coolness that provides shelter

جرح الليالي بهم قد صار مندملا

لولاهمو كان جرحاً غير مندمل

The nights have wounded them, and would have

Remained an unhealed wound, if not for them

قاموا بشرع حقوق كنت ملتزماً

أداءها واحتفاظ الوارث الوكل

They carried out the law of rights that I was committed

To fulfilling, and the inheritance of the trusted executor

وحددوا مشرع القربى وقد قصدوا

بالأصدقاء مناديحاً من السبل

And they followed the law of kinship, and they intended

With friends, directions from the paths

كلاهم اللَه من أحداث دهرهمو

وكلكمو من وقوع المهلكات كلي

May Allah protect them from the afflictions of their time

And protect you all from perdition in full

هذا العزاء وذا تأبين والدكم

عني أتاكم وقلبي بالأساء صلي

This is my consolation and elegy for your father

From me to you, while my heart prays with sorrows

لازلت أكرع في دمع الأسى عللا

وكلكم حاد عن نهلي وعن عللي

I still shed tears of sorrow in streams

While you all deviated from my oasis and streams

من بعده القلب مقلي على لهب

من الأسى ودموعي أقرحت مقلي

After him, my heart is roasted over

A flame of sorrow, and my tears corroded my eyes

كأنني ابن غريب خاطر سلبت

عيناه حتى عليها خيف من سبل

It is as if I am a stranger whose mind was captured

Until even his eyes were covered in trails

أمسى عليه حزيناً مثل والده

بحيث أمسى قتيل الموج والدقل

In the evening he feels sad like his father

To the point he is killed by the wave and little puddles

اللَه نسأله نلقاه في غرف

من الجنان بها ظل من الظلل

We ask Allah we meet Him in rooms

Of Paradise, with shade and shadows

والحمد للّه من أبقى سعيد لنا

من بعد وقع الرماح الخط والقصل

Praise be to Allah who kept Sa'eed for us

After the stabbing of spears, lines, and poetry

وذاك من حظنا الباقي البقاء له

لو كان غير دون الظن بالأمل

That is part of our share that remains

If it were not less than hoped for in expectations

تقوى الإله نوصيكم وحفظكمو

بمن بقي بعده أهلاً ومن خول

I advise you piety to Allah and His protection of you

Through the one who remained after him, worthy and immoral

وبالصديق صلوا صدقاً حبائله

ولا تسيء بكم خلق على ملل

Pray sincerely to the truthful friend and do not

Ruin your manners due to boredom

أحلى الحياة وأهناها الصديق إذا

ما كان منك على الأحزان والجذل

The friend makes life sweetest and eases it

When you share sorrows and troubles with him

وهي المكارم مرقاها به وعث

إلا بجد رقاها الحر مقتتل

It is the virtues whose ladder is through it, and he

Only climbed by seriousness and fighting

كل يقول أنا إني وتكشفه

إلا مقارعة الأيام والدول

Everyone says "me, I" but it exposes him

Except confronting the days and fate

أبا حسين سقاك اللَه في جدث

من وابل مرجحن واكف هطل

Abu Hussein, may Allah give you in your grave

Heavy rain and enough rain

وأحرستك من الباري لطائفه

حتى لمن هول يوم الحشر لم تهل

And may He protect you with His blessings

Until even the terror of Judgement Day does not frighten you

يا رب صل على المختار سيدنا

وآله وعلى العبد المطيع علي

O Lord, bless the Chosen One our Master

And his family, and the obedient servant Ali
