It is true that if I weep blood, it is true
My shoulders bear more than I can stand
Sins, if I were to die from their weight
I would be shredded by vipers and cobras
Even if the smallest portion were forgiven
It would destroy those of delicate build
Or if my sins were cast into the vast ocean
It would drown, sunk by their weight
If my sins blew upwards onto ice
The ice would melt away from their heat
How can I, a normal human,
Born of a clot of blood and sperm
Withstand what shakes the pillars
And fills the joints and veins?
I am the living one who died alive
I am the captive of freed sin
I am drunk on a wine of sins
And when will the drunkard awake?
They say youth is wantonness
And wantonness cracks with old age
And old age brings moralizing
Yet in old age, nature is immutable
Yet here I am, with grey hair upon me
Yearning for passion like the passionless
Now I am like aged wood, oh aged wood!
My morals and nature are rights
A fifty year old with the ways
Of a twittering twenty year old
So I've made my goal collecting trifles
For that is the catapult of the feeble
I do not awaken from my lifestyle
My food, drink, clothes, leisure and more
Oh God, forgive me and guide me
For my hope's rope is tied to You
