It is a dream that people do not hurt each other,

And no matter how much people hurt you, be patient.

The calmness on the young man's face indicates his forbearance,

Just as his quiet temperament shows his wisdom.

An old house is useless to its heir,

If he diverges from his father's goals.

I have no gratitude for one with no generosity to me,

Nor one from whom I seek refuge, but he refuses.

No good in one who has no pact to help

A neighbor, or harms and annoys.

Any talk not matched by action

Is vain prattle and idle chatter.

One who cannot ride a stallion should not

Seek to mount it, lest he fall off the steed.

Indeed, the days distinguish one whose excellence they spread

And one asked "Who is this?" before his pedigree is told.
