إنا نعزيك ما لسنا على ثقة

إنا نعزيك ما لسنا على ثقة

من الزمان ولكن سنة الدين

من الزمان ولكن سنة الدين

Indeed, we offer you condolences, though we have no confidence

We console you though we're not confident

in time; rather, this is the custom of the faith.

Of days to come, but law of faith instead-

ليس المعزي بباق بعد صاحبه

ليس المعزي بباق بعد صاحبه

ولا المعزي وإن عاشا إلى حين

ولا المعزي وإن عاشا إلى حين

The consoler will not endure after his companion,

No comforter outlives whom he consoled

nor will the consoler, even if both live for a while.

Though both should live a little while ahead
