أَجرى عَلى يَدِيَ العَطا
جَريَ الثَناءِ عَلى لِساني
He made bounty flow through his hands;
praise flowed over my tongue.
إِلزَم عِنانَكَ يا زَما
نُ عَنِ الأَذى هَذا زَماني
Hold your reins, O Ti—
—me; keep harm away from me—this is my time.
وَاِرتَع مَكانَكَ لَو سَعَي
تَ لَما وَصَلتَ إِلى مَكاني
Graze where you stand; even had you stri—
—ven, you would not have reached my station.
أَنا عَبدُ مَولانا العَزي
زِ فَغُضَّ عَنّي ما تَراني
I am the servant of our master, the Migh—
—ty; so overlook whatever you see in me.
وَإِذا دُعيتُ بِعَبدِهِ
لَبَّيتُ دَعوَةَ مَن دَعاني
And when I am called his servant,
I answer the summons of whoever calls me.
مِن وَجهِهِ لي قِبلَةٌ
وَمَديحُ دَولَتِهِ قُراني
His countenance is my qibla,
and praise of his reign is my Qur’an.
