بِمَن أَنتَ مِن بَعدِ الحَبيبِ مُوَلَّعُ

وَهَل لَكَ مِن بَعدِ الشَبيبَةِ مَطمَعُ

With whom are you infatuated after the beloved

And do you still have ambition after youth

نَعَم لِيَ في دَهرِ الشَبيبَةِ مَطمَعٌ

بِأَمري الَّذي إِذ يأمُرُ الدَهرَ يَسمَعُ

Yes, I still have ambition in the time of youth

With my Lord who, when He commands time, is obeyed
