وَرَأَيتُ أَجسامَ العُدا
ةِ كَما رَأَيتُ بِغَيرِ هامِ
I saw the bodies of the enemy
As I saw without any veil
وَدَمارَها لِدِمائِهِم
وَسَقامَها مِلءَ العِظامِ
And their destruction for their blood
And their illness filling the bones
وَمُحَسَّرٍ لِمُكَسَّرٍ
أَعزِز عَلَيهِ يَدُ المُقامِ
And a defeater for the defeated
The mighty hand stays upon him
كَم مِن رُءوسٍ مِن لَجا
جٍ أَو خُدودٍ مِن لِطامِ
How many heads from fighting
Or cheeks from blows
وَالسَيفُ سَيفُ اللَهِ يَس
فِكُ بِالحُدودِ دَمَ الأَثامِ
The sword of God unsheathes
To cut with limits the blood of sins
وَمَآتِمُ اللَذّاتِ قا
ئِمَةٌ بِأَندِيَةِ النِدامِ
And the endings of pleasures standing
In the forums of regret
أَيُّ اِعتِزازٍ كانَ لِل
تَقوى وَأَيُّ يَدِ اِعتِزامِ
What pride was there for piety
And what powerful hand
وَرَأَيتُ شَمسَ الراحِ أَو
نَجمَ الحَبابِ بِلا ظَلامِ
I saw the sun of comfort
Or the star of loved one without darkness
سَجَدَت لِيوسُفَ في اِنتِبا
هٍ مِثلَ يوسُفَ في مَنامِ
Yusuf prostrated in attention
Like Yusuf in the dream
لِمَ يَعجَبونَ فَإِنَّها
كَيَدٍ تُحَدِّثُ عَن حُسامِ
Why are they amazed
It is a hand that talks about swords
وَكَأَنَّها في كَفِّهِ
بَرقٌ تَضاحَكَ مِن غَمامِ
As if in his palm
A lightning smiles from clouds
كَم أَرغَمَت سَكَراتُها
دَع أَنفَها تَحتَ الرَغامِ
How many their intoxications
Let their nose under the feet
ما أَختَشي نارَ العُقو
لِ بِجَيشِ دينِهِمُ اللُهامِ
I do not fear the fire of mind
With the army of their religion, Oh God
عَينُ الحَلالِ أَقَرَّها
إِقلاقُكُم عَينَ الحَرامِ
The eye of permitted, settled it
Your anxiety, the eye of prohibited
حَدَثٌ تُعَظِّمُ ذِكرَهُ
صُحُفُ الأَحاديثِ العِظامِ
An event you magnify its mention
The sheets of great sayings
أُنهي إِلى المَولى الأَجَل
لِ وَقَد أَطَلتُ مَعَ اِتِّهامِ
I end to the most Majestic
And I have prolonged with accusation
أَنَّ الحَريقَ سَرى بِمِص
رٍ في مَنازِلِها السَوامي
The burning wandered in Egypt
In its high abodes
مِن بَعدِ ما خَرَجَت أَوا
مِرُهُ بِتَبديدِ المُدامِ
After his commands went out
To spread alcohol
وَظَنَنتُ أَنَّ الأَرضَ تُس
قاها فَتُثمِرُ بِالضِرامِ
I thought the land waters it
So it produces crops
أَو أَنَّ حَدَّ اللَهِ قا
مَ عَلى الحِجارَةِ كَالأَنامِ
Or that God's limit stood
On rocks like people
أَوَ لا تَرى ذَهَباً لَدَي
كُم يَستَقِرُّ عَلى الدَوامِ
Or do you not see gold with you
Settling forever
إِن شِئتَ مِن ذَهَبِ الطِلا
أَو شِئتَ مِن ذَهَبِ الرَغامِ
If you want by extracted
Or if you want by natural
فَليَذهَبِ الذَهَبُ الَّذي
قَد كانَ يَذهَبُ بِالكِرامِ
So let the gold go
That went away with generous
كَم أَتلَفَتهُ أَكُفُّكُم
فَجَرى التِلافُ عَلى نِظامِ
How your palms destroyed it
So destruction went systematically
فَليَقطَعوا مِنها الرَجا
ءَ فَقَد ثَوَت تَحتَ الرِجامِ
They should cut off hope from it
It became stable under feet
قوموا فإنَّ المُلكَ ما
ينساه مَلِكُ القيام
Rise for the kingdom does not
Forget, the King of Resurrection
وَدَعوا لِغَيرِكُمُ إِذا اِس
تَيقَظتُمُ دَعَةَ المَنامِ
And leave for others when you
Wake up, the situation of sleep
تِلكَ المَناكِبُ قَد حَما
ها اللَهُ مِن ضَمِّ الزِحامِ
Those shoulders, God has protected
From convergence of crowds
أَيُّ اِنحِطامٍ أَنَّ بَي
تَ العِزِّ يُمسي في الحُطامِ
What destruction that the house
Of glory spends the night in ruins
وَاِرحَل عَن الإِقطاعِ فَال
إِقطاعُ مِن سَعدِ الغُلامِ
Move away from fiefs, for
Fiefs are from Saad, the young man
وَاِنشُر لَها العَلَمَ الشَري
فَ وَدَع مُحاسَبَةَ الغُلامِ
Raise for it the honorable flag
And leave accounting the boy
ما الغَزوُ في أَيّامِكُم
وَالنَصرُ رَميَةُ غَيرِ رامِ
What invasion in your days
And victory, a not throwing arrow
قُلنا اِعتَذَرتُم في الصِيا
مِ فَقَد عَذَرنا في الصِيامِ
We said you apologized for fasting
So we excused for fasting
فِرّوا فَهَذا القَرُّ قُل
نا قَد سُبِقتَ بِذا الكَلامِ
Escape, for by God we have
Preceded you with this speech
لا تَنفِروا في الحَرِّ قُل
نا العُذرُ حَقٌّ في الضِرامِ
Do not reject in heat, we said
The excuse is true in harm
ما العُذرُ إِذ وَلِيَ الخَري
فُ وِلايَةَ البِكرِ الحَوامي
What is the excuse, when the Caliph took
The rule of the first tyrant
إِذ آب آبُ القاعدي
نَ وَآلَ أَيلولُ القِيامِ
When the sitting ones sat
And September of standing went
ماذا أقولُ لَهُ إذا
ما قالَ لي قَلبي أَمامي
What do I say to him, when
My heart did not say to me in front of me
وَاللَهُ ما داري عَلى ال
غَربِيِّ مِن دارِ السَلامِ
By God I don’t know about Western
From the abode of peace
يا ناصِحي لَم تَرعَ إِن
فَنَّدَتني حَقَّ الذِمامِ
My advisor, you did not care when
He frustrated me, the rights of blame
مُلكُ المَنامِ لِناظِري
أَمرٌ سِوى مُلكِ الأَنامِ
Kingdom of sleep for my viewer
Is a matter other than people's kingdom
دَعني فإِنّي مُضمِرٌ
سَبقَ الحَمامِ إِلى الحِمامِ
Leave me, for I have aimed
The pigeon preceded the bathroom to the bathroom
بِرَدىً يَرُدُّ مُرادَ هَم
مامٍ بِفُرصَتِهِ هُمامِ
With coolness, cooling the purpose

بِيَدَيهِ لا بِيَدي زِما
مُكَ ما أَميري مَع زَمامي

My matter, with the lead
وَإِذا يُباشِرُ عَذلَهُ
فَالسَمعُ أَشرَدُ مِن نَعامِ

وإذا يُباشرُ حربَهُ
فالرِجلُ أثبتُ من شمامِ
And if he undertakes his war
Then the feet are more fixed than a nail
وَالمَجلِسُ المَخدومُ مَخ
صوصٌ بِلَثمِي وِاِستِلامي
The attended council, specific
With my touch and greeting
وَلَهُ فَإِنَّ عَلَيهِ لا
أَسخو بِها أَبَداً سَلامي
For him, so for him, I
Never spend my greetings
وَأَقَلُّ ما يُنمَى لَهُ
عَنّي التَحِيّاتُ النَوامي
The least growth for him
From me are dormant greetings
ما تَوَّجَت أَلِفَ الغُصو
نِ الخُضرِ هَمَزاتُ الحَمامِ
The thousands of green buds were not
Crowned by the strokes of the pigeon
