1. يَموتُ الفَتى شَوقاً إِلى الحُسنِ وَحدَهُ

    فَكَيفَ بِمَن قَد فارَقَ الحُسنَ وَالحُسنى

    The young man dies longing for beauty alone

    So what of one who has left both beauty and glory

  2. وَما مِصرُ مُذ فارَقتَها غَيرُ لَفظَةٍ

    فَرَدَّ عَلَيها اللَهُ مِن قُربِكَ المَعنى

    And Egypt has been naught but a word since you left

    Yet God has restored its meaning through your nearness
