لَقَد عَلَّلوهُ مِن مُنىً بِبَعيدِ

كَما أَنجَزوهُ مَوعِداً بِوَعيدِ

They exiled him from Mina far away

As they fulfilled their promise with a threat

فَريدُ هَوىً يَبكي فَريدَ مَلاحَةٍ

فَيَنثُرُ مِن جَفنَيهِ عِقدَ فَريدِ

A unique lover weeps for his unique companionship

And sheds from his eyelids a string of pearls

وَقَومٍ عَنَوا شَمسَ السَما بِسُجودِهِم

وَفي الأَرضِ بَدرٌ قَد عَناهُ سُجودي

And a people who rebelled against the sun with their prostration

While on earth there is a full moon that my prostration has disobeyed
