أَما لِعَذلِ العَذولِ مِن آخِرْ

وَلا عَلَيهِ إِن لَجَّ مِن حاجِرْ

Is there no end to the blamer's blame?

Let him find fault; I shall not care.

يا ساحِراً لا يَنالُ بِغيَتَهُ

مِنّي وَهَيهاتَ يُفلِحُ الساحِرْ

O sorcerer, you'll never attain your wish,

for this you will never achieve, O sorcerer.

أَبلَغُ أَهلِ الغَرامِ فيهِ أَنا

القَلبُ وَالجَفنُ ناظِمٌ ناثِرْ

I have reached the utmost in passion for him;

my heart composes, my eyelids shed tears.

مُقتَسَمٌ بَينَ لَوعَةٍ تَرَكَت

سِرّي وَدَمعي كَما تَرى سائِرْ

Divided between the anguish that left

my secret and my tears flowing, as you see.
