We saw your generous gifts, chaotic as they were,
And feared that they might soon scatter and fade.
So I came to the gates of your kingdom, announcing
That I had arrived, following in devotion.
The kings were all stingy in granting permission,
And though they’d let me in today, I’d welcome them tomorrow.
Behind those veils lies a radiant light,
My eyes have glimpsed its guiding glow.
By God, my arrival is no mere destination,
But a true birth, and that is the honest truth.
