صَمَتَ العَذولُ وَصَمتُهُ إِقرارُ

صَمَتَ المُحِبُّ وصمتُهُ إِصرارُ

The indifferent one is silent, and his silence is acceptance

الحبُّ نارٌ وَالمَلامُ مُثيرُهُ

والجَفنُ زَندٌ وَالدُّموعُ شَرارُ

Love is fire, and blame fans its flames

The eyelids are flint, and the tears are sparks

لا تَلحَ واعذِر إِنَّها الأَهواءُ إِن

عَذَرت وإِلّا إِنَّها الأَقدارُ
