1. تَظاهَرَ في الدُنيا بِأَشرَفِ ظاهِرٍ

    فَلَم تَرَ أَنقى مِنهُ غَيرَ ضَميرِهِ

    He pretended in this world to have the noblest of appearances,

    Yet you saw none purer than his conscience.

  2. كَفانِيَ فَخراً أَن أُسَمّى بِعَبدِهِ

    وَحَسبِيَ هَدياً اَن أَسيرَ بِنورِهِ

    It is enough pride for me to be named His servant,

    And it is enough guidance for me to walk in His light.

  3. فَأَيُّ أَميرٍ لَيسَ يَشرُفُ قَدرُهُ

    إِذا ما دَعاهُ صادِقاً بِأَميرِهِ

    What prince does not have his status ennobled,

    If his sovereign calls him truthful?
