يا شارِباً مُرَّ الخُطو
بِ وَيورِدُ العَذبَ الزُلالا
O you who drinks the bitter drought
That brings the fresh sweet water
كَم هَجَّرَت نُوَبٌ عَلَي
يَ فَما عَدِمتُ بِهِ ظِلالا
How many times have I been abandoned
Yet never lacked shade
يَهني لِسانِيَ أَنَّهُ
وَجَدَ المَقالَ بِهِ فَقالا
My tongue rejoices that it
Has found these words to say
وَكَذاكَ أَيضاً قَد وَجَد
تُ بِهِ المَقيلَ لَهُ فَقالا
And so too have I found
In them restful sleep and words to speak
يا بالِغاً قِمَمَ العُلا
هِمَماً وَآمالاً طِوالا
O you who reached the highest aspirations
With great hopes and dreams
لَولاكَ كانَ الجودُ في
هَذا الزَمانِ يُرى مُحالا
If not for you, generosity
In this age would be impossible
