لا تُوَدِعِ السِرَّ إِلّا عِندَ ذي كَرَمٍ

وَالسَرُّ عِندَ كِرامِ الناسِ مُكتومُ

Entrust not the secret save to the noble,

For with the noble, secrets are kept concealed.

وَالسِرُّ عِندي في بَيتٍ لَهُ غَلَق

قَد ضاعَ مَفتاحُهُ وَالبَيتُ مَختومُ

With me, the secret lies within a locked house;

Its key is lost, and the house is sealed.
