هَوِّنِ الأَمرَ تَعِش في راحَةٍ
كُلَّ ما هَوَّنَت إِلّا سَيَهونُ
Ease the burden of matters, and you will live in comfort,
For everything you take lightly will surely become light.
لَيسَ أَمرُ المَرءِ سَهلاً كُلّهُ
إِنَّما الأَمرُ سَهولٌ وَحَزونُ
The affairs of man are not entirely easy,
Rather, they are a mix of smooth plains and rugged ground.
تَطلُبُ الراحَةَ في دارِ العَنا
خابَ مِن يَطلُبُ شَيئاً لا يَكونُ
You seek repose in the abode of toil,
And disappointed is he who seeks what cannot be.
