1. شَيئانِ لَو بَكَتِ الدِماءَ عَلَيهِما

    عَينايَ حَتّى تَأذَنا بِذِهابِ

    Two things—were my eyes to weep blood over them,

    My eyes, until they succumbed to blindness,

  2. لَم تَبلُغِ المِعشارَ مِن حَقَّيهِما

    فَقدُ الشَبابِ وَفُرقَةُ الأَحبابِ

    It would not fulfill a tenth of their due:

    The loss of youth and the separation of loved ones.
