O neighbor Hamdan, whoever dies sees me
O neighbor of Hamdan, whoever dies shall see me,
Whether a believer or a hypocrite before
Whether he be a believer or a hypocrite, face to face.
He recognizes my glance and I recognize him
His gaze will recognize me, and I shall recognize him,
By his attributes, his name and what he has done
By his attributes, his name, and the deeds he has done.
I say to the fire when it is lit for the
I will say to the Fire, as it blazes for the Reckoning:
Honor of his offspring: "Do not go near the man!"
"Leave him be! Do not draw near to this man,"
His offspring, do not go near him, for he has
"Let him be, do not approach him, for indeed he holds"
A rope connected to the rope of the successor
"A rope firmly connected to the rope of the Successor."
And you are at the Bridge, blocking
And you shall meet me at the Bridge of Sirat,
So do not fear stumbling or slipping
So fear neither a stumble there, nor a slip.
I give you to drink, from something cool over thirst
I shall give you a cool drink to quench your thirst,
You imagine it in sweetness to be honey
Which, for its sweetness, you would deem to be honey.
