هُمومُ رِجالٍ في أُمورٍ كَثيرَةٍ

وَهَمّي مِنَ الدُنيا صَديقٌ مُساعِدُ

The concerns of men are bound to many affairs,

While my only care in this world is a supportive friend,

يَكونُ كَروحٍ بَينَ جِسمَينِ قُسِّمَت

فَجِسمُهُما جِسمانِ وَالروحُ واحِدُ

Who is like a spirit divided between two bodies,

So that the bodies are two, yet the soul is one.
