مَضى أَمسُكَ الباقي شَهيداً مُعَدَّلاً

وَأَصبَحتَ في يَومٍ عَلَيكَ شَهيدُ

Your yesterday has passed, remaining as a just witness,

And you have dawned upon a day that acts as a witness over you.

فَإِن كُنتَ في الأَمسِ اِقتَرَفتَ إِساءَةً

فَثَنِّ بِإِحسانٍ وَأَنتَ حَميدُ

So if, in the past, you have committed a transgression,

Then follow it with a good deed, and you shall be praiseworthy.

وَلا تُرجِ فِعلَ الخَيرِ يَوماً إِلى غَدٍ

لَعَلَّ غَداً يَأتي وَأَنتَ فَقيدُ

And do not postpone an act of good from today until tomorrow,

For perhaps tomorrow will come when you are gone.

وَيَومُكَ إِن عايَنتَهُ عادَ نَفعُهُ

إِلَيكَ وَماضي الأَمسِ لَيسَ يَعودُ

And your day, if you live to see it, its benefit returns

To you, while the past of yesterday shall never return.
