أَلَم تَرَ أَنَّ الفَقرَ يُرجى لَهُ الغِنى

وَأَنَّ الغِنى يُخشى عَلَيهِ مِن الفَقرِ

Have you not seen that poverty is hoped for, wealth is feared

Do you not see that poverty holds the hope of riches,

Lest poverty befall it and lay it bare

And that riches hold the dread of poverty?
