Sever the bonds of calamity with fortitude,
For perhaps a day may come when you see nothing you abhor.
How often a man is veiled, and eyes compete for him,
While in truth he is merely a gilded counterfeit.
And how often the noble man imprisons his tongue,
Wary of the consequence, though he is masterfully articulate.
And how often the dignified man smiles at the injury,
While his heart, from the searing heat, groans in agony.
