دُونَكها مُترَعَةً دِهاقا
كَأساً فارِغاً موجت زَعاقا
Here, take it—brimming and overflowing,
A hollow cup that has surged with bitter venom,
إِنّا لِقَومٌ ما نَرى ما لاقى
أَقَدَّ هاماً وَأَقَطَّ ساقا
For we are a people who heed not what is faced,
Splitting the skull and severing the shin.
