1. وَما ظَبيَةٌ تَسبي القُلوبَ بَطَرفِها

    إِذا اِلتَفَتت خِلنا بِأَجفانِها سِحرا

    No gazelle that captivates hearts with her glance,

    In whose eyelids, when she turns, we perceive magic,

  2. بِأَحسَنَ مِنهُ كَلَّلَ السَيفُ وَجهَهُ

    دَماً في سَبيلِ اللَهِ حَتّى قَضى صَبرا

    Is fairer than he whose face the sword has crowned

    With blood in the path of God, until he died steadfast.
