أَنا بِالدَهرِ عَليمٌ

وَاَبو الدَهرِ وَأُمُه

I am wise in the ways of time

I am deeply learned in the ways of Time,

And father and mother to time

I am the father of Time and its mother.

لَيسَ يَأتي الدَهرُ يَوماً

بِسُرورٍ فيُتِمُّه

Time will never bring a day

Never does Time bring forth a day

Of happiness that's here to stay

Of joy that it allows to be complete.
