أَرى الدُنيا سَتُؤذِنُ بِانطِلاقِ
مُشَمِّرَةً عَلى قَدَمٍ وَساقِ
I see this world is about to set forth
I see the world signaling its departure,
Girding up its loins, ready to start,
Girding itself for flight with urgent haste,
فَلا الدُنيا بِباقيَةٍ لِحَيٍّ
وَلا حَيّ عَلى الدُنيا بِباقِ
For neither is the world for one who lives
For neither does the world remain for the living,
Nor one who lives for this world to stay.
Nor does the living remain upon the world.
