O you who prefer the world over your religion,

And who wanders lost, far from your purpose,

You have come to hope for immortality in it, yet

Death has bared its fangs beyond restraint,

    Alas! Death has arrows

That will strike down whomsoever it hits one day,

No preacher can redeem the heart of one

Whom God has not willed to guide aright.
