هنيئاً لمجموعِ المناقِبِ والعُلى

جمالِ الورى مجد الملوك مُحمَّدِ

Congratulations to the one endowed with merits and highest rank

The beauty of mankind, the glory of kings, Muhammad

أبي الفَرجِ الكرَّار بالبأس والندى

على الجورِ والإِمْحال غير مُصرَّدِ

My father Al-Faraj Al-Karrar with might and glory

Against injustice and tyranny, never retreating

ورودُ صيامٍ عنده مثلُ دهْرِهِ

عَفافاً وتقوى في مغيبٍ ومشْهَدِ

His days of fasting are like the rest of his life

In chastity and piety openly and in private

فمن عضد الدين استفاد بنو العُلى

مساعِيَهُمْ حتى أتوا كلَّ مَحْمد

Thus the people of high status benefited from supporting the faith

Their efforts until they attained every praise

فتى الخير أمَّا حِلْمُهُ فلِمُجرمٍ

مُسيءٍ وأمَّا مالُهُ فلِمُجْتَدي

The young man of benevolence, as for his clemency it is for the offender

The abusive, and as for his money it is for the needy

يفوقُ أناةَ الطَّوْدِ عند نَدِيِّهِ

وفي العزم حدَّ المشْرفيِّ المُهَنَّدِ

He surpasses the patience of mountains against his foe

And in determination the vigor of the daring champion

ويحملُ ما لو حُمِّلَ الشُمُّ بعضه

لعادتْ مَهيلاً من صعيدٍ ورمْدِدِ

He carries burdens that if the Summ mount was loaded with some

It would have crumbled, debris and rubble

وظِلُّ الأداني والأباعِدِ حاملُ ال

مَغارمِ قَوّامُ المَقامِ المُحَسَّدِ

The shade of the lowly and distant ones, bearing

Costs, supporting the lasting, envied position

بعثْتُ مديحي وهو أشرف قُرْبةٍ

لأبْلَجَ من آلِ المُظَفَّرِ سيِّدِ

I sent my poem, the noblest offering

To the brilliant one from the victorious family, my master

لِجَمِّ رمادِ البيتِ رحبٍ فِناؤهُ

كريمِ مَبيتِ الطَّارقِ المُتَلَدِّدِ

To the generous whose house is as vast as

The courtyards, the generous long-standing host
