1. قُل للحَجيج ومن أضحت منازلهُ

    بالجامعيْنِ مقالَ العالمِ الفَطِنِ

    Tell the pilgrims, and those whose homes

    Are by the two mosques, the words of the wise scholar:

  2. هي النَّصيحةُ من وافٍ أخي ثقةٍ

    صفْوِ المودَّة لم يغدر ولم يخُنِ

    This is advice from a loyal brother,

    The essence of affection - he has neither deceived nor betrayed.

  3. حُلُّوا الربى واسكروا السعدي واتخذوا

    مكان خيلكُمُ خيلاً من السُّفُنِ

    Dismantle the shelters and leave Sa'di intoxicated,

    And replace your horses with ships.

  4. فقد أتاكُمْ خضمٌّ زاخرٌ لَجِبٌ

    جمُّ الغوارب في زي امرىءٍ حَسنِ

    For a large army has come to you,

    A huge throng of warriors in the guise of a handsome man.

  5. أبو المُهنَّدِ هِنْديٌّ وأحْسَبُهُ

    يُرْبي على البحر في الإحسان والمنَن

    Abu Muhannad is an Indian, I believe,

    Who sails the ocean generously and graciously.

  6. القاتلُ المحْلِ والقِرن الكميِّ إذا

    تَساوقَ الذِّئب والعَيْمانُ للَّبَن

    The deadly warrior with the brave spear, when

    The wolves and foxes vie for the milk.

  7. غَمْرُ المكارمِ في عُدْمٍ وفي جِدةٍ

    صفْو العقيدة في سِرٍّ وفي عَلَنِ

    The abundance of virtues in times of scarcity and plenty

    The essence of faith in private and in public.
