It pleases my eye to stain it with bloodshed
Hastening like the darkness of descending night
So I may look from Heshbon by the sword of Dijlah
As sharp as the blade that cleaves all enemies
I gleamed from it the flash of glory, young
I did not stop til I plunged into the fray
Then came Imad al-Din and the son of his uncle
Free in disposition amidst the changing fortunes
Death to evil once my sword of victory is drawn
And desire is set loose to cry havoc
