The young Thursday wanders lost, son of the new moon,
And the soul of Saladin in battle is fierce,
Horses’ armor rattles beneath them
As good fortune and victory excite them,
A hero who taught the hyenas and gazelles
Courage until the prey complained of neck and breast,
When he lights the fires of dawn and dusk
Plunderers and eagles feast on the fertile land,
I left verses of my praise for him
That please the glorious when recited by the full moon.
