1. أبى الله اِلا ما تريدُ فكنْ لهُ

    شكوراً فنُعمى الله تبقى على الشكرِ

    God decrees as He wills, so be content with His will

    Be thankful, for God's blessings remain with gratitude

  2. ودُمْ سالماً انَّ المَعالي بهيجةٌ

    بتصريفها ما بين نهْيكَ والأمرِ

    Stay safe, for great things are delightful

    In their arrangement between your prohibition and command

  3. فانَّ على الأيامِ نضْرةَ زهْرٍ

    بوجهك يا ابن الماجدين بني النَّضرِ

    For the days have the blossoms of flowers

    With your face, O son of glorious ancestors, O Bani Nadhr

  4. عرفْتُكَ والأيام شوسٌ خطوبُها

    تبزُّ وجوه الهازلين سَنا البّشْرِ

    I knew you while the days had arduous tribulations

    That detract the faces of the jokers, despite their youth

  5. وأنت الأغرُّ النَّدب تُربي رزانةً

    وبِشْراً على الطود المُمنَّع والفجرِ

    You are most noble, though blamed, you nurture composure

    And glad tidings upon the forbidden and sacred dawn

  6. أمرُّ من السَّمِّ الذُعافِ حفيظةً

    وأحلى رضاً في الناس من مورد البشر

    More bitter than aloes' bitterness, protecting morality

    And sweetest consent among people like a spring for mankind

  7. ومنْ كالوزير الزَّينبيِّ مُحامياً

    وباذلَ جودٍ في المخاوفِ والغُبْر

    And who like the minister Zainabi, defending

    And spending generosity in fears and dust

  8. أشدُّ من الجيش العرمرم نُصْرةً

    وأكثرُ نفعاً في البلاد من القَطْرِ

    Stronger than the clamorous army in victory

    And more beneficial in the country than rain

  9. عليه اذا جدَّ الطِّرادُ قَساوةٌ

    وأيُّ رؤوفٍ في مجالسهِ بَرِّ

    When the aggressor is harsh upon him

    And what sympathetic one in his councils of righteousness

  10. فلا زالَ مسْعاه واِنْ أرغم العِدى

    كفيلاً باِحرازِ المَحامِد والأجرِ

    So his reputation remains, even if the enemy is reluctant

    Responsible for the preservation of praises and reward
