نعمتَ صباحياً يا بْن عَمِّ محَّمدٍ

ولا زلت فتَّاكاً مدى الدهر مُنْعِماً

You blessed my morning, O son of Muhammad's uncle

And you have remained gracious throughout time

فانك أنْدى الحَيِّ وجهاً وراحةً

وأوسعهم حِلْماً وأمنعهم حِمى

You are the most handsome of the living in face and comfort

And the most clement and protective in forbearance

أبيٌّ وأعْناقُ الرجالِ ذليلةٌ

جريء اذا ما فارس الرَّوْع أحجما

A father whose neck the men bow down submissively

Bold when the horseman of calamity recoils

وقورٌ اذا طاشتْ حُبى كل راجحٍ

قؤولٌ اذا ما أفْوهُ القوم جمجما

Dignified when the heedlessness of each complacent one rages

Eloquent when the mouths of the people murmur incoherently

يسرُّ مَعَدّاً منك أبْلَجُ زاهرٌ

اذا كَلَحَ الخطب المَهيب تبسَّما

A white full moon brings me joy from you

When the formidable events frown

أراح عزيب المجد بالسعي واحتوى

على مخفرٍ كان الشَّتيتَ المُقسَّما

It brought ease to the weary glory with effort and contained

A guarded place that had been divided and dispersed

واُقسم ما استعظمت صدراً مُسوَّداً

من الناس اِلا كنت في العين أعْظما

And I swear however large a darkened chest I esteemed

Among the people, yours in my eye was the greatest

ولا استكرمت نفسي عهود بني عُلاً

وفَوْا ليَ اِلا كان عهدُكَ أكْرما

And I never esteemed my own soul's pacts with the sons of nobility

Above your pact which was the most noble

تكونُ ضِراماً في الحفيظة مُشعلاً

وسيْلاً اذا ما أمسك الغيث مُفْعما

You are a flaming brand in recollection

And a torrent when the rain withheld has swollen

واِني لمَجْلوبٌ لي القولُ مُثْنياً

عليك وأغدو في سِواكَ مُجمجما

And I am compelled to speak praise doubly for you

And I wake up remembering only you

بقيتَ يمين الدولة لخِرْق ما جرى ال

نَّسيمُ وما أرسى ظلامٌ وأنْجما

You remained the right hand of the state against the rent of what transpired

Neither breeze nor darkness nor stars
