My refuge in faith and my call is to he

Of noble origin, generous lineage and pedigree

Talk of distress flew to my heart

And surrendered me to caution and dread

So I said, far from the one of glorious traits

    Any feebleness or youthful foolishness

Far from any blemish, so spotless

They call him the wondrous one

Far from the intelligent, whose neighbor

Drinks from the water of clouds by striking

Far from he who, whenever exalted, puts

Down his cheek and pays the ranks no heed

My helper against the times and he who

Unravels troubles when affairs are unclear

I seek refuge for him in He who perfected glory

    From calamities and misfortunes

And I hope that his state remains

As long as rain makes fresh verdure grow
