1. راسِي الحُبى في سَلْمهِ ونَديِّهِ

    ومعَ الحفيظةِ فالجرازُ المِصْدَعُ

    My head is in its health and vigor,

    With the guard, the broken jar,

  2. ونسيمُ باكِرَةٍ رُخاءٌ سجْسَجٌ

    وإذا يُهاجُ فَرامِساتٌ زَعْزَعُ

    And the morning breeze, a gentle rustling,

    When stirred, fluttering branches,

  3. ووعورُ جرْولةٍ إذا أحْفَظْتَهُ

    ومع الرِّضا فهو البِراثُ المَهْيَعُ

    The bleating of a lamb, if you protect it,

    With consent, it is the scatted wool,

  4. عضد الهُدى والدين والصدر الذي

    شَهدَ الوَغى بفَخارهِ والمَجْمَع

    Supporter of guidance, religion and the bosom that

    Witnessed the tumult with its pride and assembly,

  5. ورِثَ الرياسة كابراً عن كابِرٍ

    والفَرْعُ أزْكى والمكارمُ أوسع

    Inherited leadership from leaders,

    The branch more virtuous, the virtues more abundant,

  6. كالغَيْثِ والدُه الغَمامُ فنافِعٌ

    بَرٌّ ومولودٌ أبَرُّ وأنْفَعُ

    Like rain its clouds beneficial,

    Righteous and a son more righteous and useful,

  7. مَلآن قَلْبٍ بالتُقى وضَميرُهُ

    منْ كلِّ خائنَةٍ قَواءٌ بَلْقَعُ

    Filled with piety and his conscience

    Free of any treacherous guilt,

  8. يعْصي العواذلَ في النَّوالِ وقلْبُه

    للّهِ والعافي مُجيبٌ طَيِّعُ

    Disobeying adulteresses in intimacy yet his heart

    To God compliant and obedient,

  9. بَطَلٌ طَرائدُه الخطوبُ فكُلُّها

    بالبأس والجدوى يَتُلُّ ويصْرع

    A hero whom all calamities

    With might and resolve attack and defeat,

  10. فإذا الرَّعيَّةُ قد أقامَ قَناتَها

    مِنَحٌ مُكَرَّرةٌ وعدْلٌ مُمْتِع

    Thus did the commoners establish their aqueducts

    Repeating favors and enjoyable justice,

  11. قاصِي العُلى أمَمٌ على عَزَماتِهِ

    فالميلُ فِتْرٌ والنَّحيزَةُ إِصبَعُ

    Guide of the lofty, nations in their resolutions

    Inclination, isolation, and partisanship ceased,

  12. سَنَنُ المَعالي آمِنٌ لسُلوكِهِ

    ولغيرهِ فهو المَخوفُ المُسْبِعُ

    Ways of glory, secure to follow,

    And for others, frightening and intimidating,

  13. طِرْفٌ مَداهُ لا يُباحُ لسابِقٍ

    وتَهابُ غايتَهُ الرِّياحُ الأرْبَعُ

    A gaze whose extent competitors cannot traverse

    And its end makes the four winds fearful,

  14. فإذا جَرى للمكْرُماتِ تقاصَر

    الهوجُ الزَّعازِعُ والجَوادُ الجَرْشَعُ

    When the generous coursers and lively racers fell short,

    Turbulent waves and roaring seas,

  15. نصَعَ الزمانُ بنورِ مجْد محمَّدٍ

    وسنَى مُحيَّاهُ المُكَرَّمُ أنْصَعُ

    The times were adorned with Muhammad’s glory,

    And its reviver the most honorable reformer,

  16. بمُعظَّمٍ قبل الوزارةِ لمْ يَزَلْ

    سامي أوامِرِه يُطاعُ ويُسْمَعُ

    With a dignified one before authority, never

    Ceasing, his lofty commands obeyed and heard,

  17. وكأنَّهُ في النَّاس شمسُ ظَيهرةٍ

    يَجْلو مَحاسنها سَحيقٌ مُمْرِع

    As if among people a rising sun

    Whose beauty a pouring rain reveals.
