عَلِقَ القَلْبُ بِسَمَّا

كٍ رَشِيقِ الحَرَكَاتِ

My heart is caught by the graceful

movements of a delicate one

بَرَدِيِّ الثَّغْرِ يَفْتَر

رُ عَنِ العَذْبِ الفُرَاتِ

with lips parting to reveal

the sweetness of Euphrates
