كَفَى شَرَفاً أَنّي بِحُبّكَ أَعْرِفُ

فَمَا آنَ أَنْ تَحْنُو عَليَّ وَتَعْطِفُ

It's honor enough that through loving you I'm known

So cease your disdain, show me mercy, bend down

عَمَرتُ جِهَاتي في هَوَاكَ ولا أَرَى

سِوَاكَ وَما لي عَنْكَ ما عِشْتُ مَصْرِفُ

I've roamed the world for your love and none else I see

But you, none can sway me from you while I have breath

فَزِدْ في التَّجَنّي حَيْثُ شِئْتَ فَإِنَّهُ

وَحقِّكَ أَنْتَ المالِكُ المُتَصَرِّفُ

Then punish at will, act as you see fit, it's your right

For you are the master with absolute might

وَمِثْليَ أَوْلَى مَنْ يَمُوتُ صَبابةً

وَمِثْلُكَ أَوْلَى مَنْ يَحنُّ وَيُسْعِفُ

And one such as I should rightly pine unto death

And one such as you should pity and give relief

أَيا مَنْ لَهُ الحُسْنُ الّذي بَهَر الوَرَى

وَمَنْ حَازَ مَعْنىً لا يُحَدُّ وَيُوصَفُ

O you of beauty beyond all mortal acclaim

That speaks of a meaning no words can contain

تَجلَّيْتَ لي في كُلّ شَيءٍ تَكَرُّماً

فَلَسْتُ لِهَجْرٍ وَاقعٍ أَتخوَّفُ

You have graced me in all things, been generous and kind

Leaving no dread of estrangement to cause me pain

وَحُزْتَ جَمالاً لَيْسَ فِي الخَلْقِ مِثْلُهُ

بِهِ دَائِماً قَلْبِي يَهيمُ وَيُشْغَفُ

A beauty that has no like in all humankind

Has captured my heart, enthralled it, made it shine

فَخدُّكَ وَرْدٌ وَاللَّواحِظُ نَرْجِسٌ

وَشَخْصُكَ نِدْمانٌ وَرِيقُكَ قَرْقَفُ

Your cheek is a rose and your glances narcissi

Your form like straight poplars, your saliva wine

وَجَفْنُكَ نَبَّالٌ وَشَعْرُكَ مُسْبَلٌ

وقدّكَ خَطِّيٌّ وَلَحْظُكَ مُرْهَفُ

Your lids are like violets, your hair loosely curled

Your stature a sapling, your gaze finely honed
